1.外在感官特征冀村长山药条块顺直，块茎肉质肥厚，直径5厘米左右，圆柱形，表皮光洁色淡，有紫红斑，根毛细而稀少，皮薄、薯肉色泽洁白，肉质细腻无纤维，易熟，熟后性绵，质地绵而不柴，香气浓郁。掰开后有白色黏液，黏度高、粉性足、色白、肉身如玉，啖食无渣。
2.内在质量指标冀村长山药营养价值高，可食率（以质量计）>95.0%。山药块茎中蛋白质含量约2.0～3.5g/100g，淀粉含量9.8～16.5g/100g，总膳食纤维（以干基计）4.0～5.6g/100g，钙8.2～10.3mg/100g，钾388～527mg/100g，铁0.10～0.36mg/100g，粗纤维0.37～0.59g/100g，粗多糖（以葡萄糖计）0.41～0.66g/100g，维生素C 7.3～9.1mg/100g，维生素B1 0.037～0.063mg/100g，可溶性固形物5.7～8.3%。
3.安全要求严格按照“冀村长山药栽培技术规程”进行生产和管理。“冀村长山药”合理使用肥料、农药等农业投入品，严禁使用国家明令禁止使用的高剧毒、高残留农药，严格执行农药使用安全间隔期。在收购前15天，对生产基地随机抽取样品进行农残和重金属检验，符合NY5112-2005产业标准以及无公害食品NY5013-2006林果类产品产地环境条件，以及GB4285农药安全使用准则，GB/T8321农药合理使用准则等相关标准和要求。
